Daniel 4:10-27. The Tree that Grew too tall. December 6, 2025. Daniel Golovenko @ Dayton Church

In Daniel 4 we follow Nebuchadnezzar’s testimony and the vision of the great tree—beautiful, fruitful, providing shelter for many—yet suddenly cut down. Why would God cut down a “good” tree? This message explores the hard-to-share call to repentance, the lesson that “the heavens do rule,” and the danger of growing strong while forgetting who is truly in control. We also end with hope: God brings down the high tree, but exalts the low tree—pointing us to the better stump, the Branch from Jesse, Jesus Christ, and the coming kingdom where His tree of life brings healing to the nations.
