What is prayer?
Prayer at its simplest is your reply in the conversation started long ago with the God who created the vast universe and the earth. It’s an informal and friendly time that develops your personal relationship with your heavenly Father so that you can have spiritual life and energy.
God speaks to us every day—through the influence of His Spirit, through nature and revelation, His word (the Bible), and through His providence. But it’s not enough for God to talk to us nor is it OK with God if we only meditate on His works, His mercies, and His blessings; we need to share our deepest thoughts and feelings with Him as we would to a friend.
Do you have something to say to God? What’s on your heart? Tell God; tell Him everything. He’s listening.
How can we pray for you?
With a God who is ready and wiling to hear our sincere prayers and to bless us above and beyond what we could ever imagine, it is amazing that we are so reluctant to let Him know our wants! Why not pray now? The Lord cares for you (1 Peter 5:7) and He is listening (1 Peter 3:12). Share your prayer request with us because when at least two of us agree in prayer on a thing, “it shall be done for them" (Matthew 18:19). You won’t be disappointed; God is able to do more than you can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
